Who We Are
Tellico Lake Rotary Club members are People of Action! We are your friends and neighbors united in a common effort to create lasting change — across the globe, in our communities, and in ourselves.
Our club was founded in 2005 and is but one of 34,000 clubs located throughout the world. We meet weekly for fellowship, to enjoy a meal together and to learn about the many issues facing us locally, nationally as well as internationally. We use our various resources to plan, organize and conduct service projects and we work to raise the funds needed to support our charitable giving efforts. We work hard and have FUN doing so!
What We Do
Our primary mission is to help less fortunate youth in the Tellico Lake area. We are focused on helping students in poorer communities. Here are some examples of the assistance we provide:
• Scholarships for high school students attending college, vocational and trade schools
• Dictionaries for every 3rd grader in Monroe County and Greenback
• Financial help for Good Shepherd Center of Monroe County
• Support for Rotary’s worldwide child vaccination program to finally eradicate Polio
• Support for Our PLACE, an Adult Day Center for clients with Alzheimer’s and Dementia
• Support for construction and operation of an elementary school in Momance, Haiti. Besides helping educate Haitian children, adults receive training in earthquake and hurricane construction techniques and best practices.
