We will have light attendance this week due to the District Golf Tourney. The originally scheduled program on “Black Bear Rescue” has been rescheduled for June and this week’s meeting will be a Club Assembly.

Our April 21 Speaker, Cleve Tedford – Owner of Citico Wildlife Wilderness
The Citico Wildlife Wilderness is unlike any other “attraction” you’ve visited.  Home to over 200 grazing animals from all over the world, including several endangered species, it’s the brainchild of Tedford.  Cleve shared his life’s story and the following of his passion. His journey took him from TN to NYC and back, with numerous ventures along the way.  He began his park property development in 1984 and finally opened it to the public four years ago.  One of his goals is to provide a cure for “nature deficit disorder.”

Remote Area Medical (RAM) Clinic
This past weekend, an estimated 500 patients were treated at a Sequoyah High School Remote Area Medical (RAM) Clinic. The clinic offered free dental, vision and medical services on a first-come, first-serve basis, with licensed healthcare professionals providing these services free of charge.
For the third year, RCTL members volunteered to help with RAM clinic setup as one of our
community service projects.
Friday’s helpers shown to the right are: Art, Maggie and Harv. Also helping out were Dave Sharpe and Scott. Thanks to all for donating
some muscle and a couple hours of time towards this worthy project.

Rotary Districts Mobilize to Support Survivors of Ecuador, Japan Quakes
After a series of three earthquakes – two in Japan and one in Ecuador – killed hundreds of people, injured thousands, and caused billions of dollars in damage late last week, Rotary members in those regions have created disaster relief funds to help survivors.
In Ecuador, the powerful 7.8-magnitude quake that struck April 16 has killed more than 400 people, with 2,500 injured. Those figures are expected to rise.
Rotary District 4400 established a service fund to raise money for relief efforts.  In Japan, District 2720 created a disaster
relief fund after two quakes hit southwestern Japan, causing landslides and killing dozens.
