Program: Club Assembly
It was a productive club assembly as we kicked- off preparations for the 2017 Tour de Tellico. There was some brainstorming on how to improve this year’s event, the addition of “coupons” to the next Activity Guide, our charity “Benefit” which could be a dinner or an entertainment event, and the need for more “activity” related items for the silent auction. Sponsorship forms were also distributed so we can all get an early jump on securing sponsors for this year’s event/guide.

● Walt had a full weekend with Smoky Mountain Rescue Dog-in-training Sandy.
● Good news from PP Sue – she’s out of her brace and back to having two good wings.
● Welcome back Dom – returning from another TX family visit.
Multi-District Conference
The Multi-District Conference is coming up on April 21-22 in Chattanooga at the Marriott Hotel and Convention Center. Nearly 300 people from our district are already registered.
Individual meal tickets can now be purchased. Your conference registration is included with the meal to make it easy for you.
The Saturday Awards Luncheon, with the Parade of Presidents, is already shaping up to be a very large crowd. This meal will only be for folks from District 6780. At this lunch, President Everson will be coming forward to receive all of the awards that our club has earned so far this Rotary year! Please plan to attend the Saturday Awards lunch to cheer on your president.

Business Leader Samuel Owori Will Become First Ugandan to Head Rotary International
Samuel “Sam” Owori of Kampala, Uganda has been confirmed President-Nominee of Rotary International for the year 2018-19.
As a member of the Rotary Club Kampala, Uganda for 38 years, Owori says, “Rotary has become a way of life for me – with the intrinsic value and core belief in mutual responsibility and concern for one another as a cornerstone. I feel immense satisfaction knowing that through Rotary, I’ve helped someone live better.”
During his one-year term as Rotary’s 108th president beginning on July 1, 2018, Owori will focus on building membership worldwide and increasing visibility and understanding of Rotary.
