Harvey’s Useless Word of the Day: Conterminous – sharing a common boundary
Speaker: Roy Morrow (Maggie’s Hubby)
Program: Astronomy & Astrophotography
Roy is an avid amateur astronomer and astrophotographer and shared his passion with our club. He constructed his own observatory at his T.V. home – “Noquisi Uwatsi Observatory” (Cherokee for star watch) with an 11” scope and also has one at an Arizona home.
For those with further interest, he suggested orioninc.org as a resource, including hosting local star parties twice per month. An introductory astronomy class is also offered in Tellico Village over the summer. In addition, mark your calendars for a very rare total solar eclipse in East TN on Aug 21, 2017.
Tour de Tellico Reminder
Just a reminder that all members have two important tasks to complete over the next few weeks:
1) Sponsorship solicitations – both renewals and some new ones
2) Article write-ups for the “Activity Guide” as assigned – both new articles and a review of last year’s copy
