 Speaker: Mike Kitchens, Board Chair – Smoky Mountain Service Dogs

Mike Kitchens is the Volunteer Chair and Spokesperson for the Smoky Mountain Service Dogs.

Mike Kitchens brought along Hooligan. He is currently in training and dedicated in HONOR of Spec. John Hargreaves.

 Program: Smoky Mountain Service Dogs is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization with a mission to:  “Enhance the Physical and Psychological Quality of Life for Veterans with Disabilities by Providing Custom Trained Mobility Assistance Service Dogs.” Mike brought a service dog to the meeting to demonstrate some of the capabilities of a trained service dog.  Several of our dog loving members were also quite interested in a weekend socialization program for dogs in training.  Check out their website: SmokyMountainServiceDogs.org.

Another reminder that all members have two important tasks to complete over the next few weeks:

1) Sponsorship solicitations – both renewals and some new ones

2) Article write-ups for the “Activity Guide” as assigned – both
new articles and a review of last year’s copy
